Plea from the GM

Guys looks like we should keep this blog to O.P.C matters, seems like we are offending a few too many people, i will hold a discussion with Kate our IT guru about some changes so anonymous people can no longer post.
This blog should be for the O.P.C to talk about poker and matters pertaining to the O.P.C, lets just forget talking about other people.

Champ turns 21

Happy Birthday to the Champ who will be celebrating his 21st tonight at the cash game at the Ex-Services, with his fearless play the only thing that can stop him winning tonight will be too much alcohol. Good luck Champ

GM responds to pressure - is now $500 richer

The GM placed himself under pressure to achieve results and keep his position in the O.P.C. Well he achieved that last night with a 4th place in the free-roll which helped him qualify in the top 8 playoff for $500 alongside fellow O.P.C members Ian and Mark, with DS members Scott and Ross also on the table. The GM in probably his best APL performance to date took down the $500 and is happy he has hit form at this important stage of the season.

To Those Not In The O.P.C

Is everyone aware this was created for those in the O.P.C to have a bit of fun. Firstly Russo did i bag you in any way? I was told by reliable sources Gus and Darren have switched, if i am wrong it is my bad. Secondly Kristal i am sorry if the others offended you but i have no control over that, and i did infact praise your play on the APL forums.
The Cowie thing has built up over an incident last week, we have been going back and forth on the forums today, it escalated when he said an O.P.C DS member cheated, well its just not on, Cowie will cop scorn from me from now on, in fact a bounty is placed on his head by me at every event he attends in Orange from now on.

Remember everyone this is done by the O.P.C for the O.P.C for a few laughs

Memo to RapidFire

Dudes don't take things so seriously, the majority of what we write is fun and games, you guys need to loosen up and have fun. But on a serious note Gus and Darren are going to the BOPC, cause Beau needs players, as his best defected during the week and came home to the O.P.C

Invitation to Russo

It's obvious to all the demise of RapidFire is imminent. You have already lost Gus and Darren to BOPC, we the O.P.C invite you to join our Development Squad, we all know you can play but we think being in RapidFire has harmed your game and between me and the C/C we can bring you back to being one of the most feared players in the region. I know this is a big decision for you so take your time but trust me your game will thank you for it.

Numbers down, but the chips stay up

In a field with noticably fewer OPC members, Kate and Shannon did their best to represent the crew and made it to the final 8 tonight, with Kate finishing an uninspired 6th, and Shannon a well fought 7th.

Kate was feeling the immense pressure of being relegated to the development squad if she can't bring her recent Queensland form to the table, and the embarrassment of possibly missing out on the top 120. Her 6th place tonight may not be enough to help her on either front, but she's having fun trying.

Players in danger of being relegated

3 players in the top O.P.C squad are under scrutiny this week, they need some good performances or they run the risk of being demoted to the D.S. They are Thor-needs to build on yesterdays 10th placing, Kate- needs to bring her QLD form to NSW and Geremy-has been struggling for a while and a spell in the reserves might help him find some form.
There are players in the D.S knocking loudly on the door for promotion they are James Mann and Ross Piper who have put up some great performances lately.
Anyway the ball is in their court, the GM is not afraid to make the big decisions to make the O.P.C as strong as it can be.

Rapid Fire no longer a target

Due to their woeful performances of late, i think it is pointless for us to target this bunch of has-beens/ never was's. It distracts us from the goal of winning titles, which lately has been a frequent occurence.

OPC original returns!!!!!

Whilst my title/ranking/position in the team is still to be decided by the GM & CC, I am happy to announce that I am back in the OPC muck..... I mean fold.

I may have been in the Bopc but the CC was right my heart never really left the OPC I have to admit it was the mateship of all the team that brought me back and I am sure that the mighty Beau Riley can handle me leaving his team.

I hope no one holds any grudges on my return and I hope that I can make it fun on the felt once again.

Kerry earns spot in squad

Kerry Selwood is the latest young poker player to earn a spot in the DS. After thursday the c/c had realized that she had been watching and learning how to treat Bathurst bums. The way she handle herself I could not be more a prouder c/c. I could not have done a better job myself and thats saying something!
This is a great achievement for Kerry she is only the 2nd female to join the OPC.

To the Anonymous posters

For a start the O.P.C is all about fun. Poker is what we are good at. Don't hate us for being better then you are. By the way the O.P.C has a big signing to announce but the player in question wants to reveal it to his former crew first, which is cool as it will take us back to 8 strong, with the Captain Coach bouncing back to form today.
To the people who hide behind the anonymous tag, well frankly i feel sorry for you, if you are unable to identify yourself or back your comments up, to me you are what i think you are a spineless coward who gets smashed by us week in and week out and can't handle it.
If you want to play me heads up, i will play you anytime anywhere

Apprentice takes out Master!

In a record breaking night for the OPC, former apprentice now champ Mark Beard out played his former master Joe Bennetts in a heads up battle. The once c/c of the OPC was back to his fighting best after his embarrassing display on sunday, but he was no match for the Champ! In a OPC filled night Shannon Hart shined for the DS with 4th, The Sensation Chris Mauler 5th, Wayne 9-2 Selwood 8th and Kate im back Needham 10th

Never Ending Poker At Benno's

After a call for more home poker games, the first OPC all day poker will be held. All OPC and DS players are invited. This saturday starting time yet to be set!

C/C To find his game back in the DS

After a disgraceful display of poker today, I made the discision to drop myself back to the Development Squad. I feel that have let the OPC down and i hope to redeem myself with some solid play in the DS. I feel my game is at its lowest and i hope with guidance from some of the great players in the OPC can sort me out.

C/C Big Day Tommorrow!

After recent critisisim from oppostion teams about never winning an APL event and seeing my average drop to low 30's. I Joe Bennetts, C/C, Fat Boy, Top Pair am gaurantee victory tommorrow. So those who doubt my talent, skills, desire come and take me on!!!!

Is Kenney moving to Bathurst?

After talking to the GM from beaupc, i mean bopc, i was just wondering if Ian is going to start playing in Bathurst instead of Orange? Since all your team mates are all live in bathurst. Do you even know who is in your team?
On another matter, why do you keep bagging OPC members when it was clear to me on thursday you was trying to squirm you way back into the OPC! Did you really want to leave your true team and friends?

Kenney wants to be a "Target"

Why not target that slop donkey Budda?? It is very amusing this whole o.p.c v the world thing. It is a bit of fun but seriously why is the development squad called as such if they have more talent on the felt than even the C/Q8/C.

Kate dominates Qld

O.P.C original member Kate has cut a swathe through the donkeys that populate the Gold Coast poker scene, and believe me there are many. In 14 events up here Kate made 7 final tables and 1 final 16 appearance, which is a great achievement as i witnessed some of this play 1st hand. For a region more suited to the lesser playing style of a Layton, Kenney or Riley, Kate excelled in rising above this in true O.P.C style. The Gm struggled his way to a 13th and a 14th in his 2 appearances but believe me i would rather play in Bathurst then here

Ooda is a traitor

The GM and C/C were the only 2 senior players in the APL who actually gave this young man a go, and to be repaid like he is doing to the O.P.C is like a knife through my heart, hence he will immediately be barred from the O.P.C and have to fight his own battles. The O.P.C is stronger by the day and we don't need to be held back by his kind, he can join Riley and Kenney in poker oblivion

Development Squad Insider Link

OPC has got a hot new link! The Development Squad Insider is a website which gives you a chance to get inside the head of a development squad player. The highs, the lows, the good, the bad, the ugly. See the cards through the eyes of an up and comer OPC member!

Development Squad Proving Its Value

With some great guidance by the c/c and The Sensation, Ross Piper was able to pull off a great Victory tonight. Ross is the young player who is putting up his hand for selection into the vacant spot in the OPC squad. Well done Pipes!!

Biggest Donkeys in APL Orange

To all O.P.C members i want you to nominate the 3 biggest donkeys you know in the APL, it is cool for people to pick the same players, as that will be proof of their donkiness, mine are -
1. Mark Johnson - Pommy donk of grand proportions
2. Shane Hovey - aka telstra/harvey norman, watch him play is all i have to say
3. Marty Woods - calls an all in with a flush holding the 2 and 4, on Sunday just gone

Star Signing Leads The Way

Newest OPC member Geremy Combis shinned in his first outting for the OPC, in the end coming 3rd. He steped up into a leadership role in the absence of Thor and Joe, the up and comers blossome under the former leader of the Dealers, with Jeremy Layton 4th, Rhys Horan 6th, Ross Piper 7th, Shannon Hart 10th and James Mann 11th. The future looks strong at the OPC.

Joe's Bringing Sexy Back Haircut!!!!!!!!!!

I have had another haircut to inspire the OPC and the development squad! It will be revealed on thursday night at the club, as im unable to make tonight action. Dont worry development players i will some scouts there watching u all!!

Breaking News

In late breaking news, Geremy Combis is the latest star signing for the O.P.C. He will more than make up for the defection of 2 of our original crew, who believed themselves to be bigger than the crew, good luck to them guys filling a team now, i guess they could sign blokes like Mitch King and maybe Florin Popa who whores himself out to any team that needs a player. Anyway it provides us with even more proof that we are the Premium Poker Crew in the region.

Are The Dealers Still A Team

If they are not, recruiting Geremy Combis could provide the O.P.C even more power, known as a fearless player i am sure he would rather be with us than against us, considering his history with the champ, would like some feedback on this

GM admits error

As GM i listen to what my crew has to say, and i agree with the comments regarding Bathurst players, hence they will be immediately removed from any O.P.C affiliation. Just another example of why the O.P.C dominates the region, it is more than 1 player, we are a true team

O.P.C 3:16 - Well I Guess I'm All-In

Development Squad Gets A Golden Chance

To all the Development Squad members your chance has arrived, due to their inability to commit, Ian Kenney and Beau Riley have been placed back into the O.P.C- DS, which gives you guys something to play for. The Colonel ( Tournament Director- Brendon ) said there is a good chance of a teams event being held here. So guys bring your A-Game as the chance for greatness beckons you all.

Chris Mauler - Judiciary Hearing

It has come to the O.P.C management's attention that Chris played a cash game at Marty's house, if these allegations are true it could lead to serious consequences for Chris. The hearing is set down for Tuesday night at the Royal Hotel and will be heard by Acting-General Manager Joe Bennetts whose decision will be fully supported by the board.

O.P.C Development squad

In keeping up with the fine O.P.C tradition of nuturing poker talent, the O.P.C has done away with its apprenticeship scheme and formed a development squad, they will play together in teams events, and basically learn from the masters
1 Jeremy Layton - Venue Leader Royal Hotel
2 Shannon Hart - Performs at all venues
3 James Mann - 2nd Venue Royal Hotel
4 Rhys Horan - Great cash game player
5 Darren Shaw - Venue Leader Bathurst Golf Club
6 Craig Piper - Has a hand named after him
7 Ross Piper - 3rd Venue Royal Hotel
8 Kendal Stait - Bathurst poker genius

This team would do some damage, in fact i would say the 2nd best in the region behind the O.P.C. These players also know they can be elevated into the top squad at any time if there performances dictate so.

To All The Critics

the O.P.C does not hide from anything, so to all those critics let us know who you are and bring your game cause believe me you will need it.

O.P.C 3:16 - Well I Guess I Am All-In

Rookie Steps Up

O.P.C. had there 3rd straight Orange tournament win on thursday. With rookie sensation Chris taking out the night. With O.P.C. number 1 Ian making a solid 7th. Rapid Fire putting up some resistance Maclean 5th Lagre 6th. With the win Chris has pushed his way into 2nd in the venue behind the Champ Mark.

O.P.C challenge to the region

As the GM of the O.P.C i have issued a challenge to other teams in the region via the forums on australianpokerleague.com.au , to have a teams event in our region. The result is obvious- we win, but i feel we still are not getting the respect we deserve.
The team submitted was Ian, Beau, Thor, Mark, Chris, Wayne, Joe and Kate.
Lets make this happen, do it O.P.C style

Thor comes 2nd- again

On Monday night Thor ventured to the donkey capital of the Poker Universe-Bathurst to play at the Golf Club. Beau also attended this event but was swiftly dealt with by the donkeys. Thor managed to stay out of trouble to make the final table, heads up he was a long way behind but managed to hit the lead before imploding to finish in 2nd for his 3rd straight time.

Kate dominates Qld

Kate played her first game in Queensland and came a great 2nd, signalling her return to form. The Surfers Paradise Commerce Club is awash with talk of the O.P.C and how great they must be. Kate is on the verge of big things in the Poker World so the banana benders better look out.

o.p.c. owns the royal

Another great night for the o.p.c. with Mark the champ taking out the night. Others to perform well was o.p.c. hopefuls Chris Mauler 4th and Wayne Selwood 6th. Also Beau striking some form with a nice 9th and Thor coming 10th.
