Battle For Top Spot

The battle regional glory has heated up. With the top 5 drawing away from the pack, with only 85.5 points separating first to fifth. Once again OPC owns top spot with James Mann relagating TCW's Mark Cowie 2nd. Doug (I came 999th in the pokerstars team Australia) Hess is in 3rd. OPC's Shannon Hart and Wayne Selwood are 4th and 5th. Who will be the winner?

OPC Back On Top

Tuesday night at the Royal another great night for the OPC. Wayne continue his great play with steady 6th. In Wayne last 5 events he has come away with a 1st, 6th, 3rd, 5th and a 6th. Kate found away to come back from short stack 6 or 7 times to finish 4th. Well done Kate. Shannon talked his way to 3rd and was unlucky not to get another win. James Mann was the big winner of the team with a fighting 2nd and now has claimed top spot in the region. Well done Ace. Others to perform well was Craig 12th and Joe 13th.

TCW Send Troops Only To Get Shot Down

Thursday night TCW sent 2 of there member to face the might of the OPC. In a great night for the OPC, where the 2 newest members lead the way. Stu Summers single handly took care of TCW best Doug Hess (8th). And Lydia Ebert destoryed Adam Thompson (9th). In all OPC had 7 out of the top 16 and 5 of the top 8 in a field of 71. Well Done Team.
How OPC finished:
2nd Stuart Summers
4th Lydia Ebert
5th Geremy Combis
6th Wayne Selwood
7th Craig Piper
14th Kate Needham
15th Shannon Hart

Wayne's Week

Wow! What a week for Wayne Selwood. It all started Tuesday night at the Royal with a easy victory. This victory extented is lead at the Royal by over 220 points to closet rival OPC's Shannon Hart. Then Wayne moved on to the club on thursday night, where he had an unlucky 6th. It should have been a higher finish, he was monkey out by a Bopc member. Then last night's cash game at the club saw Wayne finsh a great 3rd. This fantastic week for Wayne has seen him move into 3rd spot in the region. WELL DONE WAYNE!

OPC Leaders Not Happy With Acewolf

Bad Beat and The Machine Gun are not happy about lossing top spot in the region. Since Shannon and James became regional leaders 2 weeks ago they have listed demands, said they leave if demands werent meet, been cocky and disrespectful. Maybe if you two had just stick to the poker Cowie would not be the regional leader right now. I know that if either you dont get the regional leadership back before the draft that you will not go number 1 and i know how much you both want it. I cant wait to see how you two responed tonight at the Royal!

Regionals

At the moment the O.P.C is well represented with 12 of our 16 players sitting nicely in the top 120. Mark and Chris have had disappointing seasons so far, but i am willing to bet that they will turn it around this week, Stu our newest member has to play more games to get his scores up and Beau has been laid low for some time but when he comes back the rest of the region better look out.

O.P.C - Venue Standings

The O.P.C is keeping the tradition alive, which is us dominating our venues.
On Thursday nights we are looking good with Shannon 3rd, Thor 4th, Lydia 5th, Joe 8th and Stu 9th. We are all in contention for the $500 i would say.
On Tuesday nights we have Wayne 1st, Shannon 2nd, Ross 6th and Mitch 7th, with a host of others just outside the top 10.
Sundays is our worst day but James is 1st,, the rest of us are lagging on that day.
So the O.P.C can send at least 3 players to State finals when we win all 3 venues, and i would expect more to qualify through the Regionals

O.P.C - PokerStars

Already 2 of the O.P.C's finest have qualified for next Monday nights Team Australia final on PokerStars. Wayne aka Rusty Rog, and Thor aka thors75, will do the O.P.C proud, and i predict at least 3 more of our finest will also qualify. So team get to it, is on every night at 8, and is free to enter

Full Roster

The 15th and 16th members were selected on thursday night. Stuart Summers will take over the spot vacated by Ross. Stuart has made all the right moves and with a little help from the OPC he could go a long way. The last spot was filled by Lydia Ebert, we think that Lydia will bring alot class to the OPC plus the girl can play some great poker. So welcome to you both.

OPC Tops Leaderboard

With a solid 4th from the Grinder last night, it has pushed James Mann into 2nd spot on the regional leaderboard. James is now in sight of fellow OPC member and good friend Shannon THE WIZ Hart, for top spot in the region. These great results has surely guaranteed the boys first and second spots in the upcoming OPC draft. Other good results on thursday were:
Lydia Ebert 3rd, NEW MEMBER
James Mann 4th
Wayne Selwood 8th
Kate Needham 9th
Thor Sutherland 10th
Joe Bennetts 12th
Stuart Summers 15th, NEW MEMBER

Name Ideas

The c/c is calling all OPC members to give ideas for a team name. When the OPC draft is held and the OPC is split into two teams I want to have the best team name. Infact I will run a team naming comp. The member that gives me the best name will get free entry into a $22 sit'n'go.
Its still OPC, but there will be 2 teams. So Im thinking names like: OPC Team Thor and OPC Team Benno, but better than that. So get thinking guys.

O.P.C team rules

Guys these are all Thursday/Friday night related
1-Jeans or Pants only- no more trackies ( ian & joe )
2- If vouchers are won, a shout shall be bought for all those O.P.C members there who stayed to cheer you on to glory

I think that these are fair enough, but comments and suggestions will be appreciated

O.P.C is a team

Guys the O.P.C is the most dominant team in Poker outside of Team FullTilt. For those of you who don't want to be part of this, feel free to move on, there are plenty who want to take your place. Remember you were selected due to your ability as both a player and as a team member. Myself and the C/C will be checking everybodys loyalties at the Ex-Services Thursday night.
So team mates do yourself a favour and commit, or move on

OPC Goes 1,2,3

In a historic night for the OPC, 3 OPC greats went 1st, 2nd, 3rd. With Shannon Hart taking out the night and taking control of the regional leaderboard, leap frogging TCW leader Mark Cowie. This was not the end of the great efforts of the night. OPC also had 9 of the top 16 and 5 of the top 8. Great to see the team preforming so well.
Royal Results:
1st. Shannon Hart
2nd. Wayne Selwood
3rd. Joe Bennetts
6th. Geremy Combis
8th. Mark Beard
9th. James Mann
11th. Craig Piper
13th. Kerry Selwood
14th. Chris Mauler

Regional Leaderboard

OPC could have there first Region Quarterly Leader after todays games. With a top 3 or better from James Mann or Shannon Hart they will over take TCW leader Mark Cowie. Since the deduction of Bathurst venues this season the Bathurst players that played 6 or 7 times a week have come back to the field. And when one of the OPC wins the region this season, the TCW will finally realise that OPC is the superior team in the central west. Good Luck to The Grinder and The Wiz.

J9 Bro - Leaving Town

It is with great sadness that the O.P.C announces that Ross is moving on to greener pastures at Canberra, he has though stated that he will continue to bleed O.P.C and is coming home for the Pro-Series games each month, our recruitment drive to replace him will begin with the scouted players list being closely scrutinised at events over the next couple of weeks

Joe Smashes Hoodoo

In a wonderful night for the O.P.C the mighty C/C Joe blew the field away to record his maiden victory, living up to his claims that he is the best player in Orange, Joe was a deserved winner, he was joined by Thor 3rd, Shannon 9th, Mitch 12th, Beau 13th and Craig 16th.
The O.P.C has a stranglehold on the Thursday venue leader board with many players in contention for the $500, which the O.P.C took down last season.
1 Shannon, 2 Thor, 3 Joe, 10 Beau, 13 Geremy, 16 Kate.
Yet again the O.P.C dominates

Players to fire tonight

I have little doubt that Joe, Ian, Mark, Ross and Craig will step up tonight and show that the O.P.C is the strongest crew in the region, these guys are all in the upper echelon of players in our region and it is my prediction that they will explode tonight.

O.P.C - the week that was

O.P.C was on fire this past 7 days, starting with the Thursday night Ex-Services with Beau 2nd, Shannon 5th, Thor 6th, Wayne 12th, Mitch 13th and Kate 16th. Next up was the Pro-Series event last Friday night, with Chris 7th , Kate 10th and Geremy 12th. Next event was the Sunday afternoon Ex-Services with Thor 4th, Shannon 5th, Kate 11th and Geremy 15th. Next stop was Bathurst Sunday night where our only 2 players to attend made the final table with James 3rd and Shannon 8th. The final event for the week was the Royal Tuesday night with Mitch 1st, James 4th, Shannon 11th and Kerry 12th.
What a wonderful week we have had, just further proof that we are the most dominant crew west of Sydney, you cannot argue with the results we get.
10 of the 15 players representing the O.P.C achieved good results this past 7 days, it would be interesting to see how other crews measure up, in particular TCW who seem to have a small army but only win 9 player events at Oberon
