Memo to New Error

After high level discussions the O.P.C is asking you to refrain from calling Daniel Burfitt " The Lumberjack ", we believe we own the trademark on that name, so guys looks like publicly you will need to find a new name for him, in private you can call him whatever you want.

Ex-Services Thursday Night $500

Next week sees the 3rd of these games, is open only to the top 8 players in a season, in keeping with tradition Thor qualified again, being the only player to do so in every season it has been running, he is joined by fellow O.P.C members Mitch and Darren, with 1 New Error Pipes ( who secretly still loves the O.P.C ), 1 RapidFire in Gus, and 3 free agents in Kelvin aka The Devil, Lisa and Cabbie. Looks like the $500 will once again be headed to the O.P.C.
You would think that the "Best Team in Orange" - New Error would supply more than 1 player to this event, but best of luck to Pipes, he is a great bloke.

Action at the Aaron

Last night after a many donkey chased and caught their cards on the river, a few OPC members left the Royal and headed to where the real money was at the Aaron (And considering the final table at the Royal, it seems every donkey and river rat rode it right to the final 8...).
At the Aaron a couple of newbies at our table made for interesting play as the deck wasnt even shuffled (just raked) or cut a couple of times... Ace rag and Jacks were the hands for the night, bringing players across the line to help fill the final table 4 OPC, 3 New Era and a couple of drunks. The final three consisted of Hurford (Birthday Boy), Jenny (Apparently top heavy, but lovely and was drunk as a skunk), and myself.
Its very hard to read a drunk. Their calls are either predictable or like in a scenario last night they were hitting two pair and not even realising it. It was because of this sometimes tight yet random play that Jenny first took Hurford out and then myself. It was enjoyable and I made $90 so i might make my way back there again. After a dismal couple of weeks its about time I made a respectable position. Still looking for that win but getting closer all the time as im learning new things and building confidence in my ability.

Royal Tonight

The O.P.C have been guilty in the past of neglecting this event, but reliable sources have informed me the majority if not all the crew will be there, so it looks like the O.P.C will regain its mantle as the dominant force in all venues tonight

Team Bigg Nutz

Team Bigg Nutz are expected to shine at the Pats Club in Bathurst. Matty Fitz and big K Stait are expected to fight it out with solid support from Faggosso and Team Captain the Shawdaddy

Is this the O.P.C blog????

Last time i checked this was still our blog. It seems that some people just can't let go of their love of the O.P.C, either by commenting on here, or by making their own blog a replica of ours. Last time i checked imitation was the most sincere form of flattery. I don't know whether it is a mark of respect to make a target list, but i must say i do respect some of the New Error team, and i will leave it at that to stay nice.

O.P.C gets stronger

In breaking news, arguably one of the best players in town is now with the O.P.C, Darren " The Real Grinder " Morgan, he is a welcome addition to the ranks. In sticking to new O.P.C policy of players we let in, he fits the bill perfectly. He now has access to home games of a high level which other teams can't provide, unless you call 5/10c blinds actually playing poker, hell if you have a good night there you may be able to buy lunch the next day. The next big O.P.C game will be a farewell to Beau who is leaving us shortly, but is expected to make semi regular appearances back here, complete with the panelvan.

Challenge to O.P.C dominance??

I have been reliably informed a new poker crew has formed in Bathurst. This collection of players in my opinion is second only to us - the mighty O.P.C in terms of talent and poker playing nous. The crew consists of players with varying aspects to their game. They are Darren Shaw, Robby Potter, Danni Stait, Rod Fagg, Lance Williams, Christian Lawford, Matt Fitzgerald and Kendal Stait. A couple of these players were highly sought after by the O.P.C and we have tremendous respect for their abilities.
I am prepared to go out on a limb and say they will dominate the Bathurst games with little or no opposition from the fellow Bathurst teams.
The O.P.C wishes you all well.

Orange to dominate Regionals

I can see that Orange players are going to dominate tomorrow at Panthers. The whole final table will be made up of Orange based players. My picks in no particular order are Beau Riley, Geremy Combis, Daniel " the lumberjack " Burfitt, Lisa Byrnes, Kate Needham, Tim Bouffler, Joe Bennetts and Lydia Ebert.
I am thinking i will be very close to right on this, lets see how it rolls at regionals.

New Bounty Target

Hello players, due to the cowardice of Matt Fitzgerald who isn't attending regional finals. I have decided on a new bounty target who is Nick "diz lizzle" Eviston. The prize remains the same, a wild turkey poker kit. This sesensational prize however is only available to Orange based players. It will be presented to you on the day, as i will take it to Bathurst with me. Best of luck players

Regional Finals - Bounty To Be Won

Attention all O.P.C players, and friends of the O.P.C, there is a bounty to be won at Saturday's Regional Finals in Bathurst. The player in question is Matt Fitzgerald from Bathurst. Don't worry guys i will point him out to you if you need to know who he is.
The prize on offer is a Wild Turkey Poker Kit, which will be supplied by me on completion of this task.

Machine Gun Out

Top 10 Players

Following on from Joe's top 10, here are mine - in no particular order, the players that make me concentrate and play good poker

Darren Morgan
Anthony Russo
Krystal Burns
Steve Hastedt
Kendal Stait
Mark Cowie
Vanessa Riley
Shannon Hart
Mischa Paunovic
Shane Robinson

These players might not necessarily be the best players, but they would rate highly on anyone's list. Also i left out any players with ties to the O.P.C, some of who undoubtably would be in this list. Players are not just from Orange, as i rate players from other towns as well. Can't wait to see the comments.
